Default CD Player Volume Flucuations

I have a 2006 MC SS with the 6 CD changer in the dash and when I come to a stop for a light, the volume on my CD player decreases and after I pull out and speed up, the volume goes back up. I had one episode where I came out the one morning and started the car, and a message came on to check my battery charging system and the battery light stayed on. After I stopped and shut it off and turned it back on, it was just fine. I don't know if that may have anything to do with the current situation with the CD player. I have not tried it with just the radio itself, but will try that and let you all know.

I have an 04 and it does the same thing, but I want it to do that. On my stock deck, I can turn it off if need be, maybe you can do the same on yours.

Found out that it is called Speed Compensated Volume and it can be turned off. It enables you to allow for the radio to adjust the volume for ambient noises from the engine and wind outside of the car.

Greeny,

From page 3-68 of othe '06 owners manual:

1. Set the radio to the desired level.

2. Press the MENU button to display the radio setup menu.

3. Press the pushbutton under the AUTO VOLUM label on the radio display.

4. Press the pushbutton under the desired Speed Compensation Volume setting (OFF, Low, Med, or High) to select the level of radio volume compensation. The display will time out after approximately 10 seconds. Each high setting allows for more radio volume compnsation at faster speeds.
