Default A/C Stays Cold After Turning Off

My 2004 SS has a new favorite trick. After I turn off the A/C but am still driving the air stays cold, as if it's still on. It's mid 90's where I live and humid as hell but I can click the button for the A/C five minutes from home and it stays cool and dry until I get in the garage. The only way to turn it off is to turn off the car. Once the car is off and restarted, it stays off until I turn it back on.

Any ideas?

Once you turn the a/c off, the air isn't going to instantly be hot and humid, it'll take some time for it to warm up again. Maybe thats what you're experiencing?

That's what I was trying to convey with the "five minutes" comment. That's not what I'm experiencing here. I've had this car for ten summers and when I usually turn the A/C off it's never still cold in five minutes, I can usually at least feel it getting a little humid/warm after 30/40 seconds. It stays ice cold the whole time it's "off."

I didn't know the 6th gen did that, but my 7th gen the A/C is on all the time the temperature gage is down.
I cannot turn the a/c off and use outside air.
Apparently, that's an intended feature.
