Best aftermarket 6x9's?
I completely agree with the JL audio ZRs if you can afford them but for those of us that are on a RIDICULOUSLY LOW budget, I went with a set of MD audio MD-6934 in the rear. They are 1000 watt 4-ways and they KICK. Plus i only paid 80 bucks for both. In the front i put in MD-634s they are the 6.5" 500 watt 3-way version of the same thing. They were $55 for the set. In the trunk, I put in an AudioPipe 10" sub with a Konaki 1400 watt amp and a really ****ty capacitor from wallyworld. It was only $15 and it does it's job... kinda. Don't judge me. Pulling it all together in the dash is a Pioneer DEH-P4900iB i got for $115. So altogether I got a pretty kickass system for under $400.
Well, SoCHicago! I put some pioneer 6x9's in my car and they SOUND GREAT (not knockin the guys on this thread or those who have different aftermarket speakers in the monte). I bought mines off of sonicelectronix.com and they are wonderful. I'm telling you, when I am driving down the street, everybody is turning there heads because they "think" I have a pair of subs in the trunk turn down on low and my mids and highs are up. But yeah, the 6x9's are black and doesn't look bad neither.
Not sure what kind of budget you have, but I like MB Quart. Focal is nice too. As far as common brands I would go with Boston Acoustic or Infinity. I am not at all a fan of Sony, Pioneer or Kenwood like you can buy at Wal-Mart. Not knocking what anyone else has, and they would almost definitively sound better than stock as they seriously lack depth and richness. I also don't much care for 6x9s, but being that they are in the back they are mostly just filler anyway... If you shop ebay you can get you a good set of high quality speakers for not much more than the cheaper ones you would get at Wal-mart or Best Buy.

I purchased the brand I got because I could afford it at that price. The thing is, I would like to know what is the richness and depth in the 6x9's. I know I wasn't looking for that, honestly I was looking for something to substitute my factory speakers because I blew them. Now, I wouldn't mind to gain the knowledge of the details of speakers, if someone can help me out with.
Well, on that note. I will be going to a store that you can listen to the speakers of your choice. Because, hell, I just don't want to put anything in my car (just because I can't afford it). Your right about everybody has different listenin preference.
04Monte LS has it right...have a listen to some and make your pick. Keep in mind that a good amp to push them will be necessary as well...replacing just the speakers wont help much as in my case. personally I choose to go with Infinity kappas all around good sound for what I want to hear. Plus they handle that 600 watt alpine amp like a champ.
