Default Anyone ever taken apart a gauge cluster?

Hey guys, I've been driving my Monte and have noticed the odometer does not change. Speedometer works fine. I'm thinking a gear must have broken. That being said, has anyone taken apart one of these 95-99 clusters for this type of issue? I'd rather try to repair as opposed to getting another from ebay with different mileage for $100.

I have seen a few of them out of the Car when I visited the salvage yard but I have not taken any apart.
That might be a project to do is take one out at a salvage yard and see how they work .
Ever notice how when you are talking about that certain subject all of a sudden adds start popping up about gauge clusters?

The odometer not working is a solder problem. You need to resolder the area behind the odometer. Had the same problem.

Thank you! Glad to see there's a 5th gen owner up here who had the same issue and has a solution!

Here are some pics. Remove the screws to take the backcover off. You can then slowly wiggle and pry off the soldered panel. resolder the areas with the arrows.
The red arrow fixed my problem. Even if they don't look broken, resolder!

Thanks for the pictures, I resoldered a couple of areas, but I'll check those areas in particular now. Thanks again, we'll see what happens.

Some advice: You can't see by looking at them that they are broken. But they are. Same with those wiper motors, they all crack at the same solder location. Re -soldered 3 of them and they all work again.
