Default Amp & subs in 06 LS

I recently bought a 2006 Monte Carlo LS and am in the process of installing my 2 12s and amp. For now I just have the stock headunit to work with. To complete the install I need a remote, where should I get it from? Is there a fuse I can get it from that would work or do I need to pull out the HU? If so, how does it come out? Do I need to remove the whole dash or can I pull it out with din tools?

Are you saying you can wire subs and an amp to our stock player? I'm confused...

Yeah, I'm using the signal going to the 6x9s in the rear deck to feed the amp through the speaker level inputs. But I still need a remote. I know this isn't the ideal setup, but it will have to do until I can afford the HU that I want.

All the fuses seemed to have power going to them even with the key out. We tried all of them. None of them seemed to only have power going to them with the key turned. Which fuse would work?

Alright, I got the HU out. I'm assuming that one of the many wires connected to it would be suitable to use as a remote. But which wire?

When i was doing my remote wire i tried using the white wire back there, i found a wiring diagram that said this. it turned out that it did not work so i went to the fuse panel and used the bottom blade of the cig/aux 10 amp fuse on the drivers side. When you look at the panel it is in the second row from the bottom first one in.

Interesting... I may need to look into that. However, I just finished hooking up a remote to the HU, using the pink wire. A diagram I found here (http://www.modifiedlife.com/2006-che...iring-diagram/) says that the pink wire is an antenna trigger (why is there an antenna trigger for a car that doesn't have a power antenna?) as well as an amp trigger. It seems to work pretty good, although it turns the amp on briefly, about fifteen seconds, and then turns off, anytime you open a door, open the trunk, close a door, close the trunk, etc. Not a big deal... just weird. It turns on and off with the radio correctly.

The only problem with the way i did it is that all my speakers are run off the amps, so as soon as i turn the car off the amps shut off but the radio stays on. I went this way only because i could see myself running the battery out by listening to the music after the car is off.
