Default ambient light sensor high

I just took my 2001 monte carlo to the dealership to check my service vehicle codes. They said that they could clear all of the codes except for the ambient light sensor high. What else does this control besides the lights and where is it located in my car? Any info would be helpful.

Is that light sensor servicable or replacable? I am wondering if I need one myself.

I dont know. All the dealership gave me was the code, because it was a free code diagnostics any thing more would cost me money. Thats why I posted my question on here to see if I could get some help.

Ok. I think my problem has to do with mult-function switch, but I also have problems with my security light coming on at odd time and my radio sound goes in and out. So I thing it could also be my bcm. I found a repleacement ambient light sensor for my car and changed it out but still no lights, so now I'm leading towards the bcm or a bad connection somewhere. What symptoms are you having with you car?
