Thanks alot guys for the info it has really been a big help! I think the problems have been solved, we just bypassed the fac amp and upgraded the speakers to the jl audio 6x9 components & 6 3/4 components w/1 inch tweeters in the doors! It sounds incredible!

 

I had the same problem with a used 2001 Monte Carlo that the Original owner put an in dash Dvd player and I could'nt get any sound out of the speakers at all. I was going to buy a factory radio thinking that was my problem but did some research and bought one of those bypass harness's on Amazon and the speakers all work fine now. Hope this helps
