Default 2004 montecarlo question

I have a 2004 monte ss and to be honest the audio really isnt all that great. Would replacing the stock speakers make a big difference or what should be the next step to making the system sound better? thanks

It will make a noticeable difference, although said difference may or may not be a good thing. I noticed better quality of sound but less overall volume since my stocks were 2 ohm and I used 4 ohm speakers. But that was a non-issue to me cause It was just temporary cause I had plans of amping my speakers. I always suggest doing the head unit at the same time you do the speakers, that will give you far better results across the board than doing one or the other.
