2 ohms vs 4 ohms
Hey Im looking for a new system for my 2002 Monte. Right now I have to 12" Orion XTR Pros with a 2400 Orion HCCA Amp. Im looking to upgrade to probably the Orion HCCA subwoofers or some Kicker Solo X's but I dont remember what the difference was between a 2 ohms subwoofer or a 4 ohms subwoofer. And whats some other really good brands to look at other than Alpine & JL Audio. And also should I go with 12z or will 15s fit?

The only real difference that makes to you is it dictates what ohm load you can wire your sub or subs to. A dual 2 ohm sub can be wired to either 4 or 1 ohm(s). 2 dual 2 ohm subs can be wired to either .5 or 2 ohm(s). So if your amp does 2000 rms at 1 ohm then ur gonna want some subs that you can wire up to a final impedance of 1 ohm (dual 4, if a pair).

alriht he explained the imprendence to ya, so i shall tell you the sub to buy
first, if you're looki9ng for a top noch sub, here are the best choices for SQ|SPL hybrids
the JL of course,
theirs the Image dynamic IDMAX12-D2 (my personal faverate)
JBL w12GTI Mkii\ or the W15GTI Mkii, or even the w10GTI MKII, their all the same sub, differing sizes. great subs. the JBL"S are the best value if you ask me.
the JL's are nice, but the ID will **** all over the JL's IMO. the ID's and the JBL will be neck and neck. the ID being the slightly better one, again though for the price, not worth it so much.
