Default Yayy!!! U BEND IS DELETED

I just got back from the muffler place down the street and they removed the U Bend. Finally I could talk to someone about the things that I want to do with my car without getting a blank stare in return. It's a start, now I need to get the money for some new mufflers.

Good for you, SS_GIRL,
Do you see any difference in performance? Where in VA BEACH did you have the work done? I lived there for 5 years when I was in the Navy.

Hi Melissa,
Glad to read that you found a shop that can do the work for you.
I think the U-bend delete is a great `mod.
What type of muffler's are you going to get for Xmas ?
Flowmasters ?
There are severalsound clipsout there on U-Tube, and a few are
posted on the MCF. Let us know your decision. Good Luck...

It may well be my imagination but I do see a slight difference in performance. Before if I was on the highway stuck behind a slow driver and punched it to jump into the next lane, it would be a second were I would feel a slight delay before I got to the speed I wanted. After the u bend delete, same scenario but instead of the delay, I just felt a boost of speed and I was gone! Imagination? I don't know, I don't think I convinced myself it did that lol. I got the work done at a local Midas shop. The guys were really helpful but they don't sell the mufflers I want. I think I'm going to go for the Dynomax Super Turbos (they have these at Pep Boys)The guys at the shop also said they could put in my CAI when I get it too.

Hi Melissa, I'm sure that the U-Bend delete makes a difference : )
The better a motor breaths, and X-hales, the better it will perform.
Just wait until you install the CAI : )
You will just love the sound of your 3.8 suck'in air into your motor : ),
and with new muffler's, the sounds should be Awesome.
Try to take pic's, and share with the member's.
We will be look'in forward to your future post.
EnJoy

I can take cellphone pics at any time but it doesn't do the car any justice man, the quality is terrible. My friend has a camera that makes the moon craters look detailed and nice!!! Then when I get the digital pics I can create a signature pic in photoshop.

Good call. I have the Dynomax myself and they are great!!! The give a nice grumble at low speeds that don't attract to much attention but have a nice sweet sound.

Ohh. And you didn't imagine the power increase. It is there.
