want to know if any one has tried this idea and does it work
Hi people I am new here and looking for some info on taking a set of headers off of my 1981 monte carlo and putting on a set of ram horn manifolds on my 350 small block as my heads on the engine are aluminum and they are angle port heads and the spark plugs don't have enough clearance with the headers ??but with ram horn manifolds on it I wouldn't have a problem with the spark plugs..what I would like to know is if anybody has done this with the 2 inch ram horn manifolds from the older model Chevy with out having to many problems with the clearance of the exhaust pipe at the motor mounts and the A frame on both right and left side ??? Thank you for reading this and all your info and advise will be greatly honored.......sattman2002

Hello Sattman and welcome to the forum!!
I have long headers on my 84 and I have to use the Accel Shorty Plugs on mine or I can't get the plug boots on without taking the headers off. In fact, I have to take the headers off to change my plugs with anything other than the shorty plugs.
I have not done the ram horn..sorry

Thank you P343 yes i have been using the Accel shorty plugs also and i have bought 3 sets of them since i built the motor and the motor has no mileage on it just running time as i am rebuilding the car from top to bottom and the shorty plugs are junk far as i am concerned there dead inside of a couple weeks .so i was thinking taking the headers off if i can come up with a set of ram horn manifolds that will work on the 1981 montecarlo I have a set of ram horns off an earlier model 1970s 327 and i know they will fit the motor its the clearance between the motor mounts and the A frame i was worried about and if anyone out there has tried to do that to the monte carlo?? But Thank you for your info
