W-body Exhaust Exchange
Hey guys,
I was wondering if there was much change in exhaust layout between years. Most I see say that they will work up to 96 and then 97+...but is the routing the same? I know some hanger locations changed but I'm not really worried about the little stuff.

You need to know which generation of W-body you are talking about.
The 95-99 Montes are generation 1.5 so most stuff doesn't interchange well with other w-bodies.
00-07 are gen 2, which interchanges with 97+ Grand Prixs, Regals, 00+ Impala.
Engine wise the 97 Grand Prix was a redheaded step child, a lot of small changes throughout, so it's usually recommended if you grab something from a Grand Prix to think 98+

You know when you want a 3" exhaust made from stainless steel with a resonator from OEM it will cost $455 and it won't even include the mufflers? AND they'll have to ship it.
I'm pretty sure a local shop can get you the 3" mandrel bent (those machines are much more common than they used to be) for the same price.
