From what I have heard about the other aftermarket downpipes for the 3.4 they are garbage and a total waste of money.

If you want to get rid of the U-bend just go to any exhaust shop and have them cut it out and weld in a straight pipe with a bung for the oxygen sensor.

Paying all that money for a downpipe that doesn't remove any restrictions but the u-bend is a waste of money.

Unless you can find a used ZZP downpipe for the 3.4, they stopped making them.

I think Mike gave some really good advice. How much is it? Plus, although they're supposed to just bolt right up, they don't always. You may end up like an inch out of alignment or less and it just not quite want to bolt up... and your bolts could be so rusty they don't want to come loose, and it could be a lot of pain for little gain. If you're that concerned about your cute, adorable little u-bend, go get an exhaust shop to weld in a piece like Mike said. Good luck finding an exhaust shop that is willing to touch it.. lot of them like to say "Well it ain't that restrictive" and "your Check Engine light will come", apparently they don't understand that I want to put the O2 bung over on the side a little bit and still run an oxygen sensor.. I've had a u-bend delete for nearly 2 years and I ain't had my check engine light come on yet!!! Anyways, just a little rant.. took me 3 shops to find somebody who would do it!

dont do it, it will cost less to delete it yourself and put in a highflow cat, same thing, just go that route

Why don't you post up links to them, and we can tell you the difference. Is it possible the 170 one doesn't have a cat?

Also, I thought you were getting headers? A lot of headers include a downpipe section as well, so you should probably decide on headers before you buy a downpipe.
