replace the uim with dorman one and added a hv3 insert a couple of week ago, but now i hearing this strange sound when i shut off the car. i had problem closing the pcv cap so i thought where the noise was coming from so i bought a new one and got to close properly but it still making the same noise from the same spot somewhere near the pcv cap but it coming from inside the uim

 

Does the pcv valve in your engine require an o-ring, and if so is it installed and seated properly?

 

yeah i bought a new pcv kit and installed it and it comes with the o-ring

 

yeah i wondering if i should my old gm uim back on because the pcv cap is not sitting on there tight with both o-rings. Even though i got the cap on properly you can still a slight space and i guess air is escaping through there when the car shuts off

 

I don't believe the HV3 is compatible with the Dorman UIM
