I think im on the right track. Need some denser foam though. This fits nicely but needs a little bit more rigidity. The prototype gasket was the best I could do at midnight and sacrificing an old gun case.

Nicely done, especially at mid-night...... The real test will be a road trip and see if it shifts...

I doubt it will do much shifting. the only reason mine does is everything is smashed in that box with the spacer installed. Nothing lines up like it should anymore

What spacer do you have installed? Is it for the air filter?

It is an Airaid Throttle body spacer off a 4.2 envoy/trailblazer. You can barely see it in the picture. It is red. I got it for super cheap off this forum from a member. Idk if it does anything other than make noise though

i need to get a new filter...one that would fit all the way in the fender well of a 3800... any ideas

I couldn't tell you maybe make a thread on it and some 3800 guys could help you out that have made FWIs before.
