Default Resonator delete

I finally got the flomaster put on today but the muffler shop would not take out the resonator. They said its against there policy to do something to a car which will cause it to fail an inspection. The guy said that i would fail the inspection if i ever got one done. All i want to know is this true? I didnt think that a resonator was a pass or fail thing but hey i dunno. And also how much better does it make it sound?

i dunno how it would sound with u, but hes wrong about failing inspection. In NJ they can fail u for sound, but ur talking v-8 supernoise or ricer fartcan stuff. You will fail if you have a red glasspack in, because they will think its a cherry bomb which is just an illegal part. Paint it silver, and get ya resonator out. I suggest askin to keep the resonator, cuz when i got mine out the flowmasters and a glasspack were too loud inside. Wish I got the super 40s

The resonator shouldn't make any differance at at for emmissions. In fact it does nothing to curb emmissions. It's purpose is to act as a primary muffler before the actual muffler. Its purpose it to help reduce noise.

I would recommend keeping the resonator anyway as the drone gets way to loud and will give you a headache after time.. or you have to keep the radio up too loud to drown it out but can't have a decent conversation in the car.
