I'm getting some flowmaster 40's for christmas and want it to sound mean! What is the resonator? where is the Resonator? What does it do? and finally how much better will it make my car sound if i take it out?

 

The resonator is located between the catalytic converter and the mufflers. If you follow the exhuast piping from the cat converter toward the back it looks like a 3' long tube about 4" in diameter.

 

all the resonator does is muffle the sound a little more to help the mufflers, i took mine off and got a little sound out of that, so if your putting the flowmasters on, take the resonator off and like above its just after the catalytic converter

 

get rid of it...it dont do nun...just makes ur car a little quiter and restrictsexhaust flow...

 

thanks for the help guys. I am really being honest. I was an import guy until i bought my monte carlo. I will never return to import. The monte community has helped me so much. I will definately post some pics and video as soon as i get things done with the Monte. Thanks Everyone!!!!
