Default Re-programming the Computer

Hey guys, I started looking at chips/programmers to beef up my stock computer. Im curious as to what others have used if anything at all.

I drive a 2001 Monte LS, 3400 Motor. Any Ideas?

i know superchips make a great programmer...i used it on my truck and was really happy with it...as for the monte i'm not 100% sure..but i'm sure it would work good on it...

stay away from plug in chips though...go with a programmer

Do you have any other mods done to the vehicle or plan on doing anything to the car? If it is bone stock, just get a Hypertech PowerProgrammer. They are very limited, but do the job. If you do any modification, then go for a PCM from Miltzy or ZZPerformance.

If you plan to do alot of tuning, then pick up a DHProgrammer - pfyc.com or 3800performance.com.

Just FYI, the programming is actually pretty good, you should consider opening the intake and exhaust first... U-Bend delete is great for that.

Thanks for the info. So far the only things i have done to the car

1) MAF Sensor
2) U-Bend delete
3) High flow cat and muffler

Not much i know, but im planning on the computer to give me the extra kick.

i would say get the dhp power tuner. i have one myself. its great... the powerprogramer and other hand held programers are ok, but they dont have scan/log features....

being able to scan and save a log of a trip or run with the car is invaluble! this is how you can get such great tuning without being at a dyno. you use real world data from your car and can see what it was doing and what you need to change.

$200 for a PCM! milzy is ripping people off. you can get a DHP pcm for less then $100
