If you did the HVTB, you would want the L36 one. OR, if you are handy with doing some metal work, you could do what I did with an L67 throttle body (see link below):
'04 Monte Carlo SS - L67 Throttle Body

Don't bother with a throttle body spacer, no need for it, but you may want to insulate that K&N intake some from engine heat.

Save your money, without any other real modifications I wouldn't bother with a TB change.

not sure how much power you are looking for, but my NA 3800 put down a 14.9 1/4 mile. my mods are an HV3, Headers, full exhaust and tuning. I am no where near maxing out the flow of the stock TB. I would think a Tb might be needed if you go GT1 or GT2 cam with stronger springs and push the shift points past 6000. or are going with a turbo.

TB spacers do not do anything for our cars. might as well put a sticker on there.

put what ever money you would spend on the spacer and tb toward an HV3 or headers. much better gain per $

Zzp recommends the hv throttle body with use of the hv3 (I think the er rockers may also be recommended).

dont waste your money on a hvtb. i am a turbo car with ported heads, cam, etc on a stock tb. at my point i could probably upgrade mine if i wanted but there is still no real issue for me to upgrade yet. a resi delete will make it more raspy, what you need to look into getting IMO is a 2.5" dp with high flow cat (this will eliminate the horribly designed "u" bend in the exhaust which is the most restricting part.)

other than that buy a used top swap for around $300 and put it on. it will be more power than you will ever get out of a NA car.

as far as sealing the k&n better i agree with this. yes k&n comes with a heat shield but hot air easily goes over the heat shield and heat soaks the filter. look into cold air inductions for a true cold air intake that is truly sealed off from engine heat.

That K&N isn't a heat shield.

I was running that kit on my Monte, my IATs were CONSTANTLY above 130°F and this was on a regular 70° day. The IAT should have only been around 72-75°

It's just a really expensive hot air intake.

Home depot sellthe same bubble-wrap like insulation find on the wizaird (and it's cheap). It would be a good help to improve that k-n kit.
