My neighbor has an 04 or 05 GP, the one with with the two round exhaust outlets per side. It is the factory system but sounds much throatier than my SS. There must be something different, any ideas what the difference may be?

 

from what ive heard they sound vitually the same, maybe he has something done to it? i think the exhaust layout is pretty close to the same possibly a different cat? i'm not sure why it would sound different

 

His car is bone stock. I'll have to do a side by side comparision.

 

is it the newer body style? might have the series III in it, that might change it up

 

series 3 shouldn't sound any different- the engines are virtually identical.

My bet is the mufflers are different- same if you've ever heard a 97-03 GP exhaust compared to a 98+ monte- both with 3800's; the GP's are a little louder, more throaty, and raspy in stock form.

Since the engines/manifolds/etc are the same, the only possibilities I see are the resonator and mufflers.

 

my 02 GP GT does sound a lot different than the Monte...both are 3.8's
