I don't like round mufflers, they remind me of import tuners. If you have room under the car for them, then I'd suggest hiding them that way.

sorry to bring this back up but im still kinda sketchy on what to do with my exhaust
i found this tho >>>MagnaFlow 53035 HF Cat Converter 2.25'' Round Single O2 | eBay

im thinking this will automatically get rid of the u'bend and is an excuse to put in a high flow cat and not worry about my stocker getting clogged anytime soon (been there done that ) lol
so now my plan is to get that cat on along with the magnaflow resonator and keeping the stock mufflers
and if that doesnt make a diff in sound to my liking then i'll just get the mufflers replaced with straight pipe

Keep an eye on the auctions. It's not a HF, but I just picked up this Magnaflow downpipe w/u-bend delete NIB for $100 shipped to my door. The same time I install the downpipe I'm going to replace the resonator with this muffler. Since it is a free flow design I figure it will flow better than the stock resonator and add a little 'tone' at idle and WOT. Don't let the $60 price tag on their site fool you;Summit Racing and a few other places sell them for $35. I'm keeping the stock mufflers at the rear for now also.

i cant find them cats with the o2 port on summiracing.com

Okay, while we're discussing exhaust, can someone elaborate on changing the resonator with a muffler? Did I understand that correctly? what is the advantage? etc... My Monte had the mufflers replaced right before I got her, but I think I still need the down pipe, u-bend delete at least. Was messing with the mufflers yesterday because the tips aren't even and the whole assembly needs some 'adjustments'. The previous owner (good kid) did the swap himself in his driveway.

I picked the downpipe up on eBay - that's why I said keep an eye on the auctions. I went there one morning and did a search. It came up ending in a couple of minutes with a high bid of $71 so I threw a bid at it and won. Including shipping it will arrive at my door for $100. The best price on the downpipe I found prior to that was $185. The mufflers are listed on Magnaflow's web site for $60 but sell at Summit and other places for about $35. I will need to add a piece of straight pipe between the muffler and y-pipe but even installing a new o2 sensor I'll be into it for under $200.
