That's not a bad price from the sounds of it, maybe only just a little high. Also, Monte's only have one cat. You're probably talking about the resonator. Just make sure that you check their work and that it looks okay.

is the resonator necessary? they did work on my truck, theyre good, theyre the cheapest price around here too, its like a 70 dollar muffler and then like 30 bucks of piping and another 60 for tips or so.... its not too bad i dont think lol

The resonator will help with the interior drone of your exhaust note.

i'm sure there are other members on here that have done a resonator delete and will speak up soon. i'm debating doing it myself on my monte, or at least a smaller body magnaflow resonator. i think it would make my magnaflows sound a little better. from what i've heard, no resonator gives you a little deeper tone (not necessarily louder) outside the car as well as more of a drone inside like blacksheep said.

I believe removing the resonator will just cause more interior drone and also cause the exhaust note to sound more tin-y. I prefer the sound with it kept in tact.

The price of the job sounds pretty decent actually.

The Price sounds good to me!

I did not completly remove my resonator, but I replaced the stock resonator with a smaller Magnaflow resonator. IMO the car sounds much better with the new resonator over the stock resonator. But it does not have the raspy, tiny noise that no resonator often gives you on a V6...
