Default My thoughts on upgrading the exhaust for the SS.

Note: This is just for the exhaust from the cat, I haven't upgraded my downpipe or cat yet.

1. Whatever set up you go with, stainless steel after-market brand or local budget custom bend, please research your area shops to save $$$$, the best shops are those who are word of mouth or have a portfoilio of their work. I went with the budget bend and I'm very impressed with their work.

2. Delete the resonator and mufflers IF you want to maximize that aggressive V8 sound, be forwarned, it's pretty damn loud inside and out Let off the gas pedal when passing police ossifers

3. Disable DOD, it sounds horrible when the LS4 switches to 4 cyl.

4. Tips should be no bigger or smaller than 4" outlet. Straight-cut, rolled edge is the best look hands down. I got my pair from Summit Racing Ebay store, $79.00 total.

Well the rolled tips dont really appeal to me, looks to clean. The sharp edge of a stainless
tip is more bad boy and aggressive appearance. But to each their own, we build for our individual taste and car show presentation.
This is an option to use for when your car goes to the 4 cyl mode and it will still sound good..

I've always wondered about this and never heard anyone say it. These DOD cars could be making unpredictable sound, so I'd be nervous

I once bought a bolt-on whistler as a gag Christmas gift for a co-workers 4-cyl Mustang. He ended up using it on his lawn mower!

I have had my DOD removed from my program for a year and love it a V8 should be a V8
not a 4 or 6. I also have traction control deleted and other things raised or removed.
The car is very quick.

They sound like a helicopter in DOD mode.

I'm gonna get the dod turned off soon, can't wait, not only does it sound like a helicopter but it also tends to sound ricey, like a straight piped honda
