Mufflers for 04 ss sc
The hard part is that the 3800 is a pretty odd sounding engine. As such, opinions vary a ton by personal preference / tolerance for certain characteristics of the unique sound (like raspyness).
I'd suggest hitting up YouTube to try and get a feel for what general muffler brand sounds you like on 3800s, then I'd find a local shop that stocks a good variety of mufflers, have them chop off your current one and let you listen to a handful by just slipping them on. You should be able to narrow it down to a handful from what you hear online, but it's always good to hear them in person.

I’ve had the SLP loudmouth cat back on my 2003 for almost 12 years and has nice tone at idle, anywhere from 1/2 throttle to WO it’s louder and gets raspy after 4000rpm but just highway cruise almost not noticeable. I also have a gutted cat (made a big difference), SLP headers and u-bend delete.
FYI I live in Ontario and the mufflers still look shiny and new as well as the tips. The rest of the exhaust has minor surface rust but it’s 409 not 304 stainless like the mufflers.
SLP made excellent products for 3800 cars.
