Default Muffler 2002 MC

Hi. I am new to this forum & are grateful for it. I have 2 Montes, a '95 LS (for 15 years) & a recently aquired '02 SS (Nov. '12). I've always had a single 40 series Flowmaster muffler on the LS. Here are my questions: Do I require 2 mufflers for the dual exhaust SS or can it be configured for a single muffler with two outlet pipes? If so, am I correct in assuming the muffler on the LS could be transferred to the SS? What about the resonators on the SS. What are the pros & cons, effects of removing them? Thanks.

The SS has a Y-pipe that splits the pipes after the resonator, then goes around the spare tire area, into the mufflers, then the tips that you see.

I wouldn't want to go single muffler then a split, since the spare tire section is there, you wouldn't have much room

You can remove the 1 resonator, it will just increase the drone a little in the cabin. if you remove the mufflers, the 3800 does not sound good.
