metal tape

lol i feel so dumb but ya didnt scare me yet. :P its the part on the exahust between the manifold and the mufflers, it might be a converter but I havent figured this car out yet i've only had it for a week, and i was frusterated earlier so i was a bit confident, anyway on the part i put tape on it has 2 holes in the bottom of it and it looks like some one drilled holes in it, cause there perfectly round now im not sure if its supposed to be like that but i dont think there should be holes in my exhaust period. and the tape is still burning

LOL
It's somewhere between the manifolds and the exhaust... That doesn't really help :P Since the manifolds START the exhaust and the Mufflers END it.
Don't put anything on your exhaust period. You gotta get that piece replaced. Even though we have no idea what it is...

were not but we are trying to figure out what your talking about so we can help you out and we hop we are not making you mad. it is just confusing on how you first discribed every thing put up some pics when you have a chance so we can or try to give you a heads up on what to do and how to fix it. so far it sounds like your unfamiliar with car parts so it is understandible. what we were asking is a little more beter discription when you first discribed the problem. thats all just cant wait to see the pics to help you out or att least try to point you in the right direction

Is it up at the front of the exhaust, right behind the firewall? That is the catalytic converter.
If its the part about halfway back down the car- that's the resonator.
If you can feel exhaust coming out of the holes while the car is running, they are definitely not supposed to be there.

Never took a close look at a catalytic converter but I have noticed a number of mufflers that have little holes either drilled or punched in the lower part, just above the seam, I'm guessing to let condensation in the exhaust escape (???) could they/ did they do that? Just throwing out an idea.

I have done a lot, but that's not my picture. Though I still have the stock rear manifold... that's about it haha
