Lol.. Yea, I started TODAY'S drive cycle to a brand new supprised... The CEL is now ON, went to a Couisns house that had a code reader and now the EGR code is on.. Says I need to replace the EGR valve now. First I'm pulling it to try and clean it, if not, I have to get another one. I have one in line from a member, but can't believe the bs I'm going thru just to pass EMMISSIONS ! Wow... Also, it still hasn't showed enough info to do the test.... I have now put on over 200 miles ! The cat still isn't ready, nor is the EVAP.. pure BS ! I'm so so ready to sell my darn car and buy a Vette ! Lol..

It shouldn't be all that bad.
What's the EGR code??? I know there's at least one code that I've seen where I don't think it was directly the EGR (just a couple bad vacuum lines).

Just cleaned out the EGR valve with carb cleaner, had a ton of carbon build up. I'm gonna reinstall the EGR as soon as the wife gets home, (I need a new gasket) and after that, I'll test it again and see if it CODES out and if not, back to more drive cycles, I believe I'm on #20+ still not enough info for the CAT, N EVAP... I just need one more and I can get ER tested.. Wish me all the luck you can... Lol...

Since you have all but a couple of the monitors in ready state DO NOT disconnect the battery to clear the EGR code! Let the PCM do it on its own. It may take a couple drive cycles for it to clear. Also, did you read about the EVAP monitor in the link above? You may want to take the car out for a couple drive cycles then let it sit overnight before testing.

I have no clue as to why Wisconsin still does it.. If the cars here don't pass, people just fudge around it anyway... Waste of time.. 99% of all the cars pass, 1% cheat... Why bother, most states don't do EMMISSIONS checks anymore ..

Default Ok, sick n tired of this bs !

Ok guys, I'm officially tired of the BS... this is where I stand as of right now... I replaced my EGR Valve with the one from my other 2001 Monte SS, (the scanner said I had a bad EGR valve, so instead of getting a new one, I used my wife's car as a donor to check n see if mine was INFACT, bad. Well, my EGR valve in her car is working perfect, my CEL is still on at this point, but all the correct changes have np been made. The monitor for EMMISSIONS FINNALLY SAID, I was ready to go to EMMISSIONS, but my CEL is still on.) so, I take the car to my cousins place, (he's an ASE cert mech, he checkd all the codes and cleared them without asking first.. So NOW all the CEL codes are cleared, but so is the HISTORY, and the EMMISSIONS monitor says that I need to drive more for the inspection.. AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH. !!!!. So my NEW question is, can I use my PCM from my other Monte SS for the history just for EMMISSIONS? What's the worst that can happen? I'm waiting for my cel to come back on on the Black monte.. I'm at a loss..... Please guys.. HELP!!!!

You won't be able to start the car with a different PCM, the VIN won't match

Lol.. Thanks, dis is why I was asking, I didn't know that.. Well,I think it's off for another 200+ miles today, that's how many miles it took to get the emmissions to have a history and get the green lights on it.. AAAARRRRGGGGGggggg. ,!!!!
