6th Gen ('00-'05): It's personal to Me
Howdy, Just went through 1 week of working in harmony with a great exhaust shop here in Kerrville, Tx., American Muffler. I read through all the successes and failures here and listened on YouTube, then decided to change my '02's melody. Started with deleting the resonator and installing 2-Super 44 flowmasters on as much 3" pipe as they could. Drove it and decided on 4" tips, drove it for a couple days. Outside it sang like a well-tuned SS396, inside of the car resonated like a speaker box until filling the trunk full of blankets fixed that, so they put a 12" glasspac in line. I took the blankets out and she sounded even sweeter outside and perfect inside. THAT'S the main advantage of a custom exhaust, in my opinion. Only you know what you ultimately want your baby to sound like and local shops exist to make your wish come true. If you find a good one, do what you can to spread the word...... I'll post a sound clip as soon as I figure out how.....
