Default Installing Headers

I was just wondering if anyone knew of any precautions or proper way to install headers. I will be recieving my SLP Headers for my 2004 Monte Carlo SS S/C and was thinking that the heat alone from the headers may need to be deflected away from other parts.. I wasn't sure if the temp. would be different than stock exhaust manifolds but I would assume so. If anyone has any tips or ideas please post them. I just don't want to run into any problems down the road. i.e. bad wire harness from the heat or anything to that nature....

Don't know for sure I have not put headers on a FWD, but you could get some header wrap to help with any heat problem.

headers usually are hotter than stock manifolds. There are a couple things you can do for it though. Like Blims said header wrap or you could get them ceramic coated, this when used inside and out help tremendously(sp?). Although I havn't heard of any issues with headers on these cars yet so it might not be a problem
