I have an 87 with a 305. Same air cleaner. The big one that is on the intake, that goes with the stock air claner when you get rid of it. The other "hard" one you can remove and stick a air breather on the carp or right on the valve cover. Problem solved.

Ok, here is a pic of my '65 Impala SS, where the red arrow shows is the breather tube coming from valve cover, I have mine rerouted to an opening in the side of my carb, a 600 cfm 4 BBL vacuum secondary, depends on your carb config. Look for a large port that may be capped. The other line comes from the front of my carb to the vacuum modulator on the front of the distributer, yours might be from another source, can't tell from your pic where it goes! Hope this helps!

I don't think I have many options for that being that I have an entirely stock motor. The carb there doesn't have ports where I could insert that in I think. I just know mine has the word jet in it.

Yeah, that has to be the one. =\ This chrome air filter is sounding like a lot more trouble than its worth, here I thought 25 bucks could add some performance with ease.

Rochester is actually a nice little street performer when operating correctly, I rebuilt quite a few of them when I was younger, with the smaller primaries and larger secondaries you get about the same if not a little better gas mileage than a two barrel, and decent performance for a stocker. Seriously, when I was a kid, I ripped the stock air cleaner off every car I had, and put on a chrome one, we used to even run those stupid little ones, not very good, but looked cool! What Emnasty600 said is true, and easy. You aren't going to get much horsepower gain at all if any, but improving airflow to an engine is always a good thing.

That filter wont net you much on that 305.But it real easy to put on You'll just need to pick a breather filter for the line to the valve cover an cap off the other line. The 305 in there is very under powered around a 145hp at the fly wheel if i remember right an the 77's weigh around 4200-4300lbs with eco gears in the rear. You can build a mild 350 out the junk yard really cheap an make some good power an it will swap in with out any problems.
