Default Glasspacks vs straight pipes

Ok, I have my 76 project with a 350, and I can't decide weather it'd sound meaner with stock headers and straight pipes at 2 1/4 inch, or with the Flotech
headers with 24" glasspacks with a 3 inch diameter and 3 inch dump pipes (either way would be dual). Any help is greatly appreciated

i dont like either personally. the straight pipe is going to be obnoxiously loud, and ive always felt the the glasspacks sound like a cow mooing when your at cruising speed. if those were the only 2 options then i would say glasspacks. at least it will mellow it out a little. personally i run long tube headers with no cats 2.5 inch manderal bent exhaust with flowmaster 40s on it. its a little loud but more than livable. i also wouldnt run 3 inch unless this is a wild 350. just because shes loud doesnt mean shes fast.

For the time being it's cheap, and eventually I am goin to put a much beefier motor in her, but I like the idea of being loud while I can (Montana doesn't seem to have sound limits). I've also heard good things about Borla but Im not sure it's in my price range at the moment

well if you want to go cheap borlas not the way to go. flowtech i think makes a glass pack that bolts right to the collectors. theyre called purple hornies and theyre extremely loud. i think that would be your cheapest bet since your not paying for piping. like these.

That was the set up I was gonna go with, considering the price. I might get something more refined later on when she's closer to being done

sounds good. my neighbors used to hate when i would get up at 4am for work and warm the car up for 10min in winter. i think the hornies sound like open headers.
