glasspacks
Cherry Bomb's are the big name in this field... I got a dynomax under mine and I LOVE how it sounds (atleast, it came with a Dynomax cat back system... the other 2 mufflers are cut and gone now....) i don't know what a Cherry Bomb would sound like... people are scared to try these things and think they sound like crap but I love how my Monte sounds...
Man, when I had my silverado, I put a true dual setup using 2.5" pipe from headers straight back and a pair of Thrush glasspacks for the mufflers. It was a scary sound. People would jump when I started my engine or revved it. <Sigh> I miss those days. Of course, that was with a 350sbc with no cat or resonator. It was a snarling beast.
I imagine it would not be as loud on the Monte, though.

When I first got my monte (back when it had a 3100), I cut out the resonator and put a Purple Hornet glasspack on. Once that rusted out- I put on a cherry bomb (they both sounded the same), and after ~3 more years of driving through salty winters, it also began to rust through, as did the piping they added at the welds. Since I did the L67 swap, a glasspack would've been way too loud for the car, so I went with a regular muffler to get the noise levels down.
If you want my honest opinion, and you're set on getting a glasspack- I'd go with a stainless one if you live anywhere that has a real winter (they sell them through Jegs, Summit, and many muffler shops). Also make sure they do any piping they add in stainless also. It will be more expensive to do- but then you don't have to worry about it ever rusting out.
