Hi all, I was thinking about putting on a set of glasspacks on my 07 ss and was wondering if it might be too loud? has anyone done this? Ive looked around a bit and havent found anything on this. Also, do the cherry bombs rumble when you let off the gas like my 67 impala ss does :p. If not which ones do because I would like to have that nice rumble after letting off the gas in my 07 too..

 

i'm not sure how the cherry bombs would sound on your 07 SS. however, they do make a good product and you pry won't be disappointed if you want that loud of a sound. check out you tube to see if there is any montes w/ glasspacks.

imo i would go for the flowmaster 40 series mufflers. i know lots of members have them on their SS's because they produce a good sound that's not too obnoxious. you could get a pretty good price on the cherry bombs or flowmasters on a "make offer" deal on ebay. i got my magnaflows for ~$35 under retail price from the make offer option on ebay.

 

with my expericance with cherry bombs u can kinda tune it to your taste closer to the motor the louder it will be out back at stock muffer location it'll be quier but sound good when ya open it up

hmm....to be honest...im kind of weary because they are so common...i would want something somewhat more unique sounding and something like the one rick posted would be interesting to me. my pops had the 40 series in his 69 chevy pick up with a bored out 350 and it sounded pretty good. not for my ss though....something a little more uncommon is what im looking for...I have no idea about borla exhaust...anyone know about them?

 

maybe ill post up some audio or video clip of my 67 because as far as i have heard its the only one that gives a deep rumble and doesnt pop when it warms up..ive seen some that give a few pops and a little rumble but not like the 67....it had that exhaust when i bought it so i have no idea what they are..

 

Ok so i spent the day working on my impala and then in my free time i listened to some different exhausts..and ive decided id go with this now the only question is will these fit without any modification...besides adding some pipe because the muffler is a few inches bigger... http://www.summitracing.com/parts/IMM-87521

 

wouldnt u have take some pipe off since it is bigger?...and most local part stores keep a decent stock of bombs just go in there and ask if ya could take a look at em...i've always been let behind the

 

counter and let to rummage around in them

 

If you do go this route we NEED to hear the glass packs on the SS. It's a must. I demand it!
