ok so i am trying to cheaply make my 95 monte carlo faster with out doing major work or spending lots of money i already took car of exhost and a better trans but i am still looking to some how get more tq out of my car can any one help me

 

For cheap? No.

The most HP for the buck you can get is going to be nitrous.

Another thing though that stands in your way is that you have a 1995 Monte. That means you have OBD-1.5, which nobody has tuning software for. So you would have to do an OBD-II swap in order to make anything serious work (even nitrous). Once you did that though, I would also do an engine swap (L67) or throw a turbo on it. Otherwise, you could go with weight reduction. They say that for every 100lbs the car looses, you go a .100 of a second faster in the 1/4 mile.

ight thanks so i take it chipping the car wont do anything and adding k and n air filter wont do much but what bout a makeshift ram air? or would just a k&n filter be better?

 

You don't need more than one thread on the same subject.

 

Chips do nothing for these cars. K&N filters aren't any good, they just suck in hot air, and then your sensor sees the hot air coming in from the intake and pulls timing (kills performance). CAI intakes don't add much HP...if any, unless you get a decent one with a good heat shield. The best is Cold Air Inductions, but they're almost 300, Wizaired is a close second, and still you may get a 10HP increase, but that's Crank HP, so you MIGHT get +1WHP if you're lucky.
