Exhaust options
you will throw codes if you do the cat delete. if you have a pcm tune that deletes the second o2 sensor it will be a different story. but if you have a normal tune and delete the cat you will notice it sounding better but it will hamper perfomance. till you do a pcm tune to delete the second o2 sensor.
If you're looking for a little bit better flow with better sound through a new exhaust system, Dynomax sells a catback exhaust system for $450 through www.3800performance.com and www.pfyc.com. Here is a clip of what this Dynomax sounds like on a 2003 Monte Carlo SS N/A 3.8.

Also, SLP sells the SLP Powerflo exhaust system, you can buy it on www.3800performance.com , www.pfyc.com , or www.slponline.com. It costs between $500 and $600 and comes with 3 inch exhaust tips. In my opinion this one delivers the best sound. Below is a clip of a 2005 Monte Carlo SS with the S/C 3.8, which sounds identical to the N/A 3.8 at rev.

Don't delete the cat for a sound change. The change is fairly minimal, and you'll be putting a lot more crap into the environment.
Does having this code reduce your car's performance in any way? Or is it just an annoying light you can't get rid of?
