The only time an ls4 will rasp with mufflers is if you take the cat out. However I dont rasp with my headers anymore

 

How much difference does the resonator really make in terms of drone and exhaust sound? Does it make the sound that much better that you can live with the drone?

 

It doesn't make that big of a difference at all. You get a little more sound but nothing super noticeable. If you are gonna run a cat just have the res cut out IMO

 

Exactly what Zach said. If you are just going to go with a set of mufflers, Take the res out at well it will not drone that bad

How do you guys think replacing the resonator with a loudmouth bullet type slp resonator and then taking the mufflers completely off and just running pipe back would sound? I've been looking at videos and I like the sound of the slp loudmouth mufflers but then I saw this idea on some other forum.

 

Loud, Raspy and Droney. you really need mufflers on there if you dont want drone. If you want SLP sound, get the mufflers and take the res out
