Hey guys, I have an 86 SS with original 305 and I am looking to rebuild my exhaust system. I want to make it a true dual 2.5" stainless header back system. I am looking to get a deep bassy rumble sound from it that keeps it classy without being obnoxiously loud. I was wondering what you would suggest muffler and/or resonator wise to add into the system to get that desired sound? Also what should I be looking into header wise that would best fit the car itself and maximize performance?

I've always been a fan of Hooker headers and the old faithful Thrush turbo mufflers, with my cars that I used to run with the small blocks they were a nice combination.

Welcome to the forum, i also love hooker headers which i have on 83 monte with 2 1/2 in exhaust with flowmasters 44 series. Rumbles just right and everyone loves sound!
