Yeah, don't worry about being people thinking that you're not intelligent, because it doesn't matter what others think. I also started out in the Monte scene when I was 18 and some of my ideas were swapping a manual tranny in a Monte and also installing t-tops. I've come a long way since then.

Have fun with your Monte, and if you want a supercharger, either go with a factory setup from GM or go with a centrifugal supercharger like me

zipper, how much did you spend on that supercharger and how much hp did you gain?

Also, i know this is off topic from this thread, but I have a question towards the downpipes and u-bend delete.
So i live in Cali, so by emissions law, we must have cats on our cars, so would i need to get a downpipe with a cat converter? Would i be getting the same gain if i were to just take the car to the shop and just delete the u bend and replace it with a 2.5" pipe down to the muffler?
In other words, in terms of cheapest, what shuld i get or what should i do?lol

and the Tstat doesnt add power gains, just reduces KR and regulates temperatures under the hood a bit right?

The downpipe with Cat is still going to give you a P0420 code and fail your emissions testing unless you have your car tuned and prevent the P0420 code from showing.

The whole downpipe is a pretty good restriction on our car, just getting rid of the U-Bend and putting a straight pipe can help, but it won't be the same gains

Well, I should have worded my post a little more carefully. I bought my CSC kit used from a guy online. It cost me $1800 and was 90% complete (I needed one or two lines and a set of 42.5# injectors). The kit is no longer in production, but was available through Stattama (which is better known as ZZP). Here's a link to the original kit: http://www.stattama.com/index.cfm?fu...2772&product=1

Word is that if you ask ZZP nicely and offer them a good chunk of change, they will still make the kit for you. It'll just take a little bit of time.

My kit was a good kit though. I went from making 222whp (heavily modified NA L36), to my current 348whp. There's a few things that I need to do including an fuel pump, intercooler, and drop my pulley from a 3.4" to a 3.2" and hopefully then I will be at 400whp. After that I have to save up for a built tranny. Stock tranny's don't like a lot of hp, lol.

The easiest and cheapest thing for you to do would either be an L67 swap or a top swap.

$700 just for the main running bars to attach the CSC to your car. Then you have to find a NOVI for it, then you get all the belts and new radiator hose and etc. etc. etc.

Believe me, I tried lol

It is now very expensive if you can't find it used
