Default eBay intake?

Bought a HAi intake off ebay for my 3.1 99, and ran into an install issue. The vacuum hose running from the rear valve cover to the intake tube isn't long enough. I emailed the seller and asked about it, and they said its supposed to stretch, but the hose on mine is a hard plastic. Could i replace it wityh rubber hose, and what about the hose ends?

you could slim down on the piping? chop some down? either way, if i were you i would return it and put that money into a fwi. im not personally sure of what the vacuum hose is made out of but i think replacing it with rubber hose would be ok? i would wait for a second opinion on that though.
