Cool Dynomax vs Flowmaster

I am wanting to put some performance mufflers on my SS. I am wanting to not get a loud roar, but want a lower throaty growl. Just want to hear a little of the american muscle. I have the 3800, but not supercharged. My local parts store sells the Dynomax Super Turbo, and the Flowmaster 40. The Dynomax comes with the hangers and all already on them, so it is easier to install. I have had Flowmaster 60 before on a sport 2.2L before and was happy with it though. I actually thought the 2.2L was a little loud, and hope to not be as loud if I go with the 40. What opinions do any of you have on this. Also if possible to post sound files of what yours sounds like, that would be awsome. Thanks ahead of time

Theres plenty of videos on youtube for exhaust sound bites..

It boils down to personal preference...
Me personally..
I'm using Xcellerator mufflers ..
Resinator delete..
3 1/2 inch tips..
Its throaty with out droneing and doesn't sound like a rice burner..

Mine also is a non supercharged 3800 series II.
Mine originally came with catback duals..since my 99 is a Z-34

If you're just looking to replace the muffler with what the local store has, the Dynomax will have a slightly deeper, more mellow sound compared to the FlowMaster...

I am going to hit youtube tonight and check out the sound bites. I am thinking I will go Dynomax since they have the hangers and all already on them. They will be alot easier to install. I think I will like the more mellow tone then the louder growl of the flowmaster. Helps they are a little cheaper as well LOL
