I'll have to whip out my digital camera this weekend and post a clip or two.

I contacted ZZP and they note that they have never had any complaints over the DP w/CAT replacement causing 02 sensor problems.

The code was P0420.
Translation: "Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold" This code is specific to the rear O2 sensor.

I cleared the code with my trusty little Hypertech unit and it has not returned. Or should I say it has not returned in the 50 miles driven since I cleared it.

Interesting!!!!!

I cleared my O2 sensor code twice so far, this last time, I re-installed my Hypertech program with my usual settings and of course, the code popped back up again around 65 miles, at 160 miles on the trip yesterday the light went off....

Could it be that the new CAT needed time to break in?

As i posted before, I replaced my system with a random technology DP and SLP catback exhaust. At about 50-75 miles the check engine light came on. I now have around 200 miles and it is still on. i think I'll contact Randaom Technology and ask thier opinion. The power increase is great, but I haven't noticed any increase in mileage. Could be I'm driving it a little harder than before!

This is my problem as well.

Let me know what the RT response is. Bet ya it will be the same line I got from ZZP as far as not seeing this problem before.

You use your old O2 sensor. It comes with a bung and I watched them screw it back in place after the install.

Did you order one yet Mickey?

I just got a call from Random Technology about the check engine light. Just as Montejass said it is flowing too good! The front and rear O2 sensors are reading the same and confusing the computer. The fix: you have to buy an O2 simulator and replace the rear sensor with it. $29.95 at 3800 Performance. Leave the rear sensor in place and unplug it and plug in the simulator. It comes with a tie wrap to hold it out of the way. If you don't want to leave the original sensor in place an old spark plug will fit in the bung. Just knock the porcelin off and screw it in. When you clear the light it shouldn't come back on. If you don't have a Hypertech or whatever to clear it yourself the auto parts store wil do it for free.

You know what, I am really PISSED that ZZP could not come freaking clean.

If I were not already vested in the damn thing I would return it..........

This goes out to anyone reading this, ZZP is off my radar for ANY mods and I will NEVER EVER EVER drive anyone else to ZZP for aftermarket stuff.

Knowing that I am playing around with the factory setup I don't mind buying extra's to make things work, but for christ sake TELL ME and don't play stupid when I call ya up on the damn thing....

Looks like 3800perf is my new playground.... I'll be ordering an O2 emulator today..........

I've been really happy with 3800 performance. Each time I've dealt with them they emailed me a tracking number for shipping and then followed up with a phone call to see if I had any questions. On this particular instance, the light had not come on yet when they called so I didn't mention it. I emailed them questioning the light and they called me within a couple of hours with the answer. I told him I would get online and order the emulator and he told me he would ship immediately and to expect it Monday. I couldn't ask for better service. I do think they should add a note on the website explaining you will need the emulator when you buy the DP.

I am also waiting on my new SLP sway bars. They should be here next week and I'm putting the car in the tire shop for new tires and they will install the bars then. I'll let everyone know how good they are.

If anyone wants the factory sway bars from an 02 SS let me know. Pay for shipping and they're yours.

Mr Montejass, I would make or suggest a new Topic Post for Members to Post the Good & Bad about Monte Carlo aftermaket parts. Many, may not check this thread & miss valuable information. ZZP will be the loser if they don't take care of their customers. 4-$ure....We live & hopefully we learn...I just hate the bad lessons `Space
