there is a flange at the front of the cat if i wanna add headers which im planning on doing soon when i find them (do you have a link)? he did cut off the back flange though and did a whole new 1 piece pipe going to the y pipe he made,
For the flange in front of the cat, are you talking about the one at the top of the downpipe- like halfway up the firewall? (I'm assuming the 3400 and 3800 downpipes are about the same design here) If so, and he cut your rear flange off, he kinda screwed you.

You can't take the catback off at the track now, and an aftermarket downpipe (and headers as well) will no longer just bolt in- you'll have to put it on and drive to an exhaust shop to have them weld the new downpipe to your catback.

They did that to mine on my old GTP when I went in for a resonator delete (already had the zzp 3" downpipe)- and I was pretty upset, especially since I had a catless downpipe and my area had emissions (luckily they didn't look during the test)- plus I couldn't sell the downpipe before I sold the car. IMO deleting flanges is never a good idea. There wasn't much I could do though- they already had the piece cut out, and I figured there was no way they could get it back in perfect alignment like stock so I could sell the DP separate.

As for the headers- go into the thread titled "3400 cam" in one of these engine sections- scroll all the way to the bottom- or try sending a PM to bob442. I think he said that you can buy pacesetters now, but something else was coming out soon.

Just wanna jump in and say Monte07, if you indeed to drive a 2007, you don't have the U-Bend. GM finally got smart in the 7th Gens :P

i was wondering about that with the u-bend because i just looked under the car this morning to check what was done to my car at the dealer. it looks like they put a gigantic trans cooler infront of my radiator as well as a really big a/c condensor i am wondering how the a/c will cool now. but thanks for the info blacksheep mike for the info about not having the u-bend

compare to other shops in the area, and if they are all the same, then I would say that sounds about right.
