Just start searching youtube for sound clips. You'll find something you like, I'm sure.

Im not sure I have heard a cammed 3800 exhaust before. I just know I have heard quite a few 3800 6th gens with flowmasters and they sounded awful.

another vote for slp or magnaflow here. they both give a great tone for V6's.

IMO i think flowmasters sound horrible on any V6, but sound great on V8's. i know a few guys with them on 5.7L and 5.3L silverados and they sound pretty damn good.

I think flowmasters sound decent on the 60* v6s. 3100, 3400, 3.4 DOHC, 3500, 3900. I have them on mine and I think they sound pretty good. I just dont like them on 3800s.

The only way you can lose is if YOU aren't happy with it. Play on the YouTube, or another website that is more car focused, www.streetfire.net , and see what you like!.

I just dont like them on 3800s.
I know I'm in the minority here (possibly the only person that feels this way), but I think any aftermarket exhaust sounds terrible on the 3800's.
After having flowmasters on my last monte (a 3.4L which sounds better than the 3.8s anyways), I'm definitely keeping the catback stock from here on out.

Definitely check out soundclips on youtube and streetfire before you make a final decision. Note that the sound at idle is going to be completely different than the sound at cruise levels or high rpm's (cruise and wot is where it really sounds terrible).

Keep in mind that you can also just cut the stock mufflers off and have different mufflers welded in to your current exhaust (assuming the stock exhaust is still in decent shape). Could save a good bit of money that way.
