Quiet is honestly the best on these cars.
If you want horsepower, don't even bother touching anything in the cat-back, that just changes the sound.
Power will come from freeing up the exhaust at the choke-points, which are the front exhaust manifold and the downpipe.
With that said, my exhaust setup has honestly sounded the best to me out of all the 3800s that I have heard (besides the quiet stock setup, because honestly everything sounds pretty bad after 3.5k rpms)
I have a ZZP SS Front Powerlog, ZZP 2.5" Stainless Downpipe with cat, and GMPP Cat-back exhaust system (which is really just a 2.5" stainless piping, 18" magnaflow resonator, magnaflow mufflers and 4" magnaflow tips)

Yeah your front manafold & DP is where ull gain power, but if u want exhaust just have a local muffler shop make u a 2.5" setup with mufflers, thats what i did, got rid of my res & u bend & have 2.5" running to stock mufflers for now till i get tips for my Borla mufflers

Please don't. I have never seen a vehicle with the bow tie tips look good. BUT, there are lots of awesome tips out there. Magnaflow for one (that did the GM Performance exhaust) sells awesome looking tips.
FYI - THe Butt Dyno noticed some extra power when I got rid of the resonator on my Monte. I did not notice much change in exhaust sound either. This could be due to factors of I have:
- PLOG
- 2.5 ZZP DP stainless with high flow cat
- Stock dual mufflers
I'm perfectly happy with the exhaust. Granted, the tips a previous owner put on are nice, I could see changing them in the future. But bigger things in the making for me.

If you have seen them and still have your heart set on them.... I can't argue that (lord knows I've done what was not popular many times, but I did what I thought was right).
