Default Cold Air Intake

Well, I can't afford K&N and a short ram is kinda pointless. I'm definitely going to just make my own CAI. I need some help though, if anyone has the K&N installed, can they post up a picture or two? I know I'm going to need some aluminum piping (mine's going to be fatter than the K&N anyway), a good high quality sponge with a mesh filter, which I have already, and the mounting hardware... anything else? And yeah, I just want the pics so I know where the K&N is installed and what kind of piping I'm going to need. Once I make it, I'll leave some instructions and approximate costs here for anyone who wants to do the same.

your going to need to drill a whole and get a rubber bushing for the sensor in the pipe, then if you can make some sort of heat shield to go around the filter ther would be best....i will get some pics taken soon , i just got mine installed the other day i got the k&n one, and am VERY happy with it

he has a great writeup on a fwi. if you cant afford the k&n setup or the other setups this is a great altenative to the hai aka short ram. it should only cost about 60 70 dollars and you would either need a pcm tray or to tie it down, becasue the pcm is in the intake box

Sorry I've never worked with an intake before... the pcm is a computer for the car or something?

Where could I get an aluminum pipe bent like that? would somewhere like canadian tire or home depot carry something like that? I'm pretty sure it's gonna be a 3.5" pipe I need, and then I'll have to see what size the cone filter is, I might need to expand the pipe at the end. I found some really good instructions on how to do it in an '02 impala, and it looks exactly the same to me, even has the same support bar and headlight fixtures but I kinda wanted to make mine a bit more unique than that, but yeah, if anyones got any suggestions, let me know
