The Intake boxes look great, not too bad on the price either I suppose.

From what I've noticed, your Cold Air Intake systems for the 3800 engine still use the factory intake duct/tubing? From my understanding that is one of the more restrictive parts of the stock intake? Is there any reason why the kit doesn't include a different style of tubing?

Maybe it's just me but I feel like that OEM tubing with the ribs would be restrictive for incoming air? I'm just trying to justify the cost of a sealed box and a filter for $260 but still has a great amount of restriction in the tubing? Don't get me wrong, a sealed box with a cone filter has to be a great improvement vs. the stock box and filter, but IMO a good intake would need that ribbed tubing gone.

I see that some of your intakes do include a tubing which looks like it would be much less restrictive than our OEM. Can we expect any changes to the tubing or some type of duct to come with the 3800 kits in the future?

Thanks for your feedback. I believe that the specific application you are speaking about is the only system (or 1 of 2) that we offer without an intake tube. In this specific design the cost of us adding a ceramic coated intake tube would outweight the benefit it could provide. As you already know, the oem intake for that particular application is fairly straight and a very short path of travel, also the location of it provides a little less heat soak than typically found. There really is not much tube there to make much of a difference by replacing it. Therefore the performance gains a different tube would provide would be very minimal if anything, and would add more cost than it would be worth. Sometimes we need to balance performanc gains with cost and design, and in this case the added cost just would not provide enough benefit to justify it.

I hope this information is helpful to you, let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks!

The MAF sensor is housed in the Throttle Body on the 3800 Series II motor.

The only sensor is the IAT on the tube.

You are absolutely correct, I have edited my original response. My apologies, when I was writing my comment I had pulled of the incorrect photo for that application which I was using as reference while I was responding. Everything else I said is still relevant, the intake tube is so short that changing it out still would not create enough benefit for the cost. Thanks for your response, fixing it it will prevent future confusion.
