Default building a catback exhaust

Alright so im going to go with a dual output muffler. Looking for somthing loud ideas? Also shoild I add an xpipe or h pipe trying to find the best sound? Considerinf a top swap can I get away with 2.5?

On Catback duals,

Unless your running "True duals".. I suppose your talking about doing it on your Monte...

True duals aren't possible...

So no X H pipe needed.

True duals are possible... Just costly and time consuming. A guy at my local muffler has a Monte Carlo and did it to his. I myself still haven't found the best combo for exhaust yet. Ran headers straight piped to vx mufflers. Idle was amazing sounded like a 500 horse v8 idling but then was to raspy when I got on it. Put a glass pack in now idle is a little toned down still sounds mean and aggressive but not really loud enough once your driving for me. It's hard to get a great all around sound on a v6 depending what you like. Personal idle is what I like. With my cam at idle she sounds sick

And ya 2.5 is good enough that's what I run. I don't remember if 3" is to much. Zzp had articles about good flowing exhaust I would look there

With the unibody design...
True duals are a near impossibility without looseing ground clearance etc...
Ya if you want to spend ridiculous amounts of moey its not worth the effort.

Didn't say it was easy just saying I've seen it done in person. Didn't lose like any clearance either. He quoted me 500 to do it. Not that bad but not worth it to me either lol

So your saying you know of and have seen a 6th or 7th gen with true dual exhaust? This I have to see, next time your with it snap some pics and post them or it didn't happen. Even the most built over the top 6th and 7th have never had true duals that I have ever seen. Would be interesting to see how this guy managed to do it, and also for $500 would do it on your Monte, thats a crazy good deal in my opinion.

You can do true duals, however... like stated it wouldn't be easy, depending on the size you would loose ground clearance, unless you used like 2" pipes (or oval pipes would help, too).

All that aside, the biggest issue is how do plan to monitor both banks? We have a single O2 sensor and the PCM only has a provision for a single upstream sensor. I mean where there's a will there's a way, but for the gains it's not worth the time or effort.
