bad cat.... symptoms? fixes?

yha i did. if you dont mind me asking though, what is an O2 sim? is that like an O2 sensor deleate / bypass?

right now im mostly worried about getting it to be more driveable, i can barely merge into traffic or climb the mountian back home with the car unless its at WOT. i just wanted to be sure it would not cause the computer system to compensate for the increased emissions at the expense of any performance gained by hollowing out the cat in the first place

You unplug the harness from the rear O2 after you gut your cat- then plug it into this little box (called an O2 sim)- which sends the pcm information like a working O2 sensor with a good cat would read. It tricks your pcm into thinking your cat is still working fine. They're only like $30 or so from what I remember, I think zzperformance may still sell them.

Oh yeah, the engine code from the rear O2 sensor tripping the light won't change anything driving wise- its just a light.

make sur if you hollow the cat you put the pipe down the center cause it will cause the hollow cat to act like a resonater and or muffler the pipe down the center makes it have a nice grrrrrrrrroooowwwwlllllll lol i did it to my 86 lol
