Default Aftermarket exhaust.

I have a 6th gen monte SS. It's not supercharged. I was looking and getting some kind of aftermarket exhaust. I want it to have a nice rumble but don't want it to be too loud and sound like s***. Anyone have any input on what to do and about how much it would cost?

I have the SLP and it's very tame but still gives a nice sound and it doesn't drone or make any **** noises. It's a very nice exhaust system too, I do a lot of performance exhausts in my shop and I still like SLP the best. Magnaflow makes a nice product also.

I'm thinking about getting the SLP loudmouth II's. And than a u-bend delete. Does anyone have this same set up or have heard it?

I don't understand why more people don't go with a custom made exhaust like me. It is cheaper and better. A real exhaust shop can do this. A custom bent 3" exhaust will change the exhaust note - lower it. You can get a 3" resonator and find the quietest mufflers you can. I don't think anyone mass produces this so custom is the only way. Some say 3" is overkill, but I'm pretty sure thats why mine sounds so good.

Stay away from Magnaflow if you don't want loud

I never bothered to video it with these mufflers. I made a video with my older Magnaflow mufflers. But I didn't think the audio sounded at all like the real thing so I never bothered trying to record again when I switched to Solo Performance mufflers. Awesome mufflers btw - I spent some time playing around (sorta wasting money) to find the best exhaust sound I've heard out of a 3.8.

I uploaded the old Magnaflow muffler video
MVI 2891 - YouTube

It was hard to take driving it. Horrible cabin drone - and I drove it that way to Daytona and back! It sounded okay under throttle, but going down the road it sounded like a small airplane. But I think you can hear the low 3" exhaust note. Any quiet dual 3" muffler set up will provide minimal backpressure and decent rubble
