Default Advice on Simple exhaust Setup

I have a 2001 SS and I'm looking to get a bit of sound with the a bit a shine.
Dont really care about gaining HP, just don't want to loose any. Not looking to empty the wallet. Have very little knowledge about exhaust.

But from research this is what I'm thinking:

Resonator delete and adding Magnaflow Mufflers

Any ideas on that?
Any advice on what to buy, and beware of?

I would just add a shorter resonator or a glasspack, the 3800s tend to get a little raspy and sound bad, Magnaflows should be fine because that's what was in the GMPP kit and it sounded great, I would just stay away from completely deleting the resonator because that will make drone at cruising speeds and I hear it can get pretty bad.

I just cut my resonator today and replaced the stock piping with 2.5 inch compared to the stock 2.25 No drone at all with the resonator cut off. Sounds slightly more aggressive when you rev it up. I'm getting magnaflows next month.

There's no HP gains or losses in the cat-back so don't worry. Just find what you think sounds good and get it, then add tips that you like and keep them clean.

I can almost guarantee that you'll get drone at highway cruising speeds especially with the horrible 3800 exhaust notes

Trewy, I just said I got absolutely no drone on 05 after cutting the resonator and adding 2.5 inch piping. If you leave the stock mufflers on you wont hear much of a difference lol
